Computer Cart Job By: Rachel

4/7/2016

So when you are doing the computer cart job you have a lot of things you have to remember. You will have to get the computer cart, clean it up when we are done, and then take it back to either Mrs. A's room, Mrs. Cary's extra room or to a specific class that needs it. If you get this job you will have to look on the schedule in the morning to see when we have the computers today and when. This is so you know when you have to get the cart and which cart to get. So when you go get the cart the first thing you want to do is unplug the cart. Then if you want (I would highly suggest this) you can quickly check if all the computers are there. If some are missing take note of that so when you are cleaning up you don't go looking for that computer. Next you will take the sign (Cart 6 or 4 is here) and put it on the cart. Now carefully take the cart to our class. Remember that this cart is filled with expensive technology that you wouldn't want to break; so be very careful when taking it down the hallway. Watch out for kids or teachers walking down the halls. So now that the computer cart is in the classroom, you will want to open the door(s) to let the kids get their computers. But don't run and get in line, first plug in the cart. Make sure the lights go on. Then you can go and get in line so you might get a computer. When the class is done with our computers wait till almost all the computers are in the cart and then start tidying up the cart. Plug in all the computers correctly, then center all the computers on their shelves. When we have cart 6 try your best to tidy up the plugs and center the computers, but you can never get it perfect. When you have cart 4, you have to make it look really nice. Push the cords back so they don't bunch up. Then close the cart door(s). Grab the sign and then unplug the cart. Make sure to retract the cord. Then carefully bring the cart back to it's designated room.
If the computer cart job wasn't done: we couldn't start our computer lessons on time. Also if we didn't get the computer cart we wouldn't be able to do all the fun things we do on computers. We also have to be careful with the computers so they don't break. So this job is pretty important and has many things relying on it.

    Our Formal Classroom Jobs

Most things in our classroom are "collaborative responsibilities" that we all share and do whenever necessary, but some things are assigned. We call these our "Formal Jobs." Formal jobs can be done by anyone, but must get done by the end of each day and one person is in charge of making sure it happens. This blog attempts to explain each of those jobs.
