Reflection questions
- What patterns did you notice about the shadow length throughout the day? The end of the day and beginning of the day had the longest length. Also during the day in the middle has the most shortest length of the season or day.
- What caused these patterns? The sun's position caused it to change the length. Also the sun and how the earth and sun are in the position that they are in.
- When you analyzed your shadow graphs, when did the longest shadows occur? Why? The longest shadows happened in the morning and night. It happens because when the sun is at the the lowest point means the shadow will be longer.
- When you analyzed your shadow graphs, when did the shortest shadows occur? Why? The shortest shadows are occurred at noon because the sun is at the highest point. It will shine on the object and the shadow will be short.
- What was the most challenging part of this lesson? The challenge was getting the sun to go low and high but it was cold too. It was hard to get the sun to be exact perfect and find where the clipboard was.
- What do you feel you learned from completing this lesson? I felt good because now I know why my shadow is long and short. I thought I was that tall when the shadow was like that.
