- What shape (or pattern) did the sun appear to make in the sky over the course of the day? What evidence do you have to support your explanation? No because the sun doesn't move, the earth moves and the sun is in one spot and we move. The sun sets in the west and rises in the east, the sun moves likes a half circle.
- How did the height of the sun change during the day? What evidence do you have to support your explanation? The height of the sun's height changes by going when it is like I said it rises in the west and rises in the east, it goes around and if it is closest to noon it is at the highest point because it is near set and it is in the middle of those two.
- Why was it important to use the same landmark(s) for each observation and have a permanent spot to record our observations from? So we can know where the shadow is and when the shadow is at the highest point. The observations are needed because it goes around and it was the point the height is at and what width is is and what length.
- When you look at your data from the day, how did the sun’s position seem to change over time? The sun's position is in a different spot and it is gonna be left, middle, or right always. That is East, west, and center and the sun changes because of our earth's spin and the sun stays on one spot.
- If you did the same activity next week, do you think you would see the same pattern of movement of the sun? Why or why not? Yes because the sun will always be in the same position from rise to set. The sun will never be somewhere else. Well it will for us but the sun always stays still and the earth will move.
- What about next month? Same spot like like it did because the sun is always in the same spot. The earth will move all the time.
- What about 6 months from now? Still the same because the sun is the same as always.
- Based on your observations, where do you think the sun goes every evening? On the other side of the earth because the earth spins and in china it is day and it is night for us. The earth spin's everyday and will never stop spinning.
