What do bones do?
- They allow us to stand up tall.
- They protect your organs.
- Without bones we wouldn't be able to move.
- It allows our muscles to move.
- Joints are where two or more bones meet and this is where motion comes.
- Fix Joints don't allow Movement.
- The two most important joints are called the hinge joint and the pivot joint.
- The most important joints are located in the fingers,knees,elbows,hands.
- One Extremely important to know is called the ball and socket joint.
- The types of ball and socket joints are Hips and Shoulders.
- Gliding and pivot joints are important too.
- Neck, Ankles and Wrists are apart of these joints.
- Our joints join together when we get older and instead of being four bones it will become one big bone.
- When you are born some of your bones are still called cardilage or baby bones.
- Some of our bones stay cardilage all our life.
- When you get older some of your cardilage starts to where off.
- More that 200 bones make up your skeleton.
- Bones are strong like steel.
- The skull is like a helmet it protects our brain.
- Our ribs protect our Heart and Lungs.
- Bones are hard and don't bend.
- They can only move when they come together at joints.
- There are many kinds of joints...
- Hinge joints-allow your arms and legs to swing back and fourth.
- Pivot joints-allow bones to rotate side to side.
- Ball and Socket joints- allows you to swing your legs and arms in almost every direction.
