Reflection/Synthesis Questions: 1.What patterns did you notice about the shadow length throughout the day? | 1. I think the pattern is long, short, long. The reason I believe that this is the pattern is because in the morning when we checked the shadow, the sun was low and the shadow was long, then at noon the sun was high and the shadow was very short, then at about 2:30 we checked it and the sun was low and the shadow was long. 2. The object blocks the sun from shining everywhere, when the sun is high, it casts down a shine that makes the shadow appear dark where the object blocked it. 3. The longest shadow was at 9:25. The reason I believe this is because the sun was really low, this caused the sun to only cast it's glow on the object from above it so the sun made the shadow look very long. 4. At noon because that is when the sun is at it's highest point. 5. Measuring the distance of the shadow with a ruler using millimeters. 6. That at different parts of the day a shadow can appear to be longer or shorter depending on where the sun is. |
