Summary: Today for History Alive we did a tug of war based on the Revolutionary War. The three teams were red, white, and blue. At the beginning Mr. Solarz said that blue will be versing red. Suddenly he only let a couple kids on my team (red) start. I then suddenly realized that we were the British and the blue team was the Continental army. He then said that the white team has to cheer for the blue team ( the Continental army ) and later on they will join the blue team in the tug - of - war match. I then inferred that the white team was the French because later on in the war, the French helped the Continental Army . The reason they were cheering is because the Continental army was at home during the war, and they didn't have to travel as far as us to get supplies. That's why half our team was sitting on the stage. I then also realized that the red team had all the tall kids " to represent the very strong soldiers from Britain. On the other hand, during the Revolutionary War the Continental army was very weak to start off, and the blue team had all of the short people in our class. The white team was in between the tallest and the shortest. At the end of the tug - of - war match, blue ended up winning ( because they are the Continental Army ) and red lost. :(

I knew we were going to lose. they had twice as much people as we did starting and they had another team that was going to come in. 3. Red. Well if you were talking about right after when we picked the teams. I was looking around and thinking to myself " Man, we have all of the big and tall kids on our team." 4. Well the more and more the rules got soon enough I thought there was a 0% chance of us winning. I felt like this because Mr. Solarz was making the number of players per team unfair, different prizes, etc. 5. They had the white team join in in the middle of the tug - of - war match, a cheering crowd, and a very easy task to defend. 6. America gained tons of land from the British, and the British now recognized as a free country. What changed in America? Well, I think all of the acts were vanished, everybody had equal right and could do whatever they want ( all of this doesn't follow for slaves) It was important that america won the war because they gained independence over British and now a great group of people would not have to follow the British rules. 7. I think America would still be in misery. Following the acts, drinking one type of tea and still not have independence. |
