On the trail, buffalo were in our way. We decided to kill one for dinner. It would also spook the buffalo and make them run away. Logan killed the buffalo but he also spooked our oxen. Luckily nothing bad happened.

When we arrived in Fort Kearny, we decided to stay 3 days. While we were there, we stayed in sod houses. People were concerned that these houses weren't sturdy enough to protect them from native americans
Picture
Also in Fort Kearny, we traded our oxen in for fresh, new ones who aren't exhausted with a man named William Rinhart. He was a hard businessman, making us spend a lot of money. We decided on $145.
Picture
While on the trail, we passed Robert Gagne's nephew's grave. It made him very sad.
Picture
Finally in Fort Kearny, we decided to repair our wagon for $50.
Picture
While on the trail, the Hatfield's got sick so Mr. Mcoy wanted to leave them behind because he did not want to have the rest of the people on the wagon train to get sick. The rest of the people on the wagon trail went to Mr. Mcoy telling him that he can't make the decision because he is not the the leader or person in charge. This turned into a heated argument.

Today we found solutions to our blisters. four people popped their blister and the rest will soak their blister while we are at Alcove Springs. The four people who popped their blister are expected to get infected from the river because there is a lot of waste in the river and the blister is now an open wound. The infected water will get into the open wound and that is how the people who popped their blister's feet will get infected. The sheep we bought also keep running away and every once in a while somebody has to go out of the way of the trail and look for them. This can get very annoying. Also all of us are very homesick. when we finally made it to the Kansas River, we decided it would be hard to haul our wagons across by ourselves so we hired a ferryman to haul it across the river. The ferryman had a ferry/raft that he made by himself and that is where he put the wagons. The ferryman charged us $30 per wagon, but he gave us a discount of $20 off. For the four total wagons it was $100 and it would originally be $120 without the discount. While crossing the river, an ox got spooked and started jumping around. The ox injured Tyler Smith, and he will have to stay in the wagons for a week from lots of bruises and a broken toe. Also when crossing the river somethings feel out of our wagons and we lost all of our bacon, tea, ropes, and biscuits. The people who popped their blisters didn't have a big consequence, they just had to rest their blister during our stay at Alcove Springs After a little bit more of journeying, we got to Alcove Springs. We stayed there for three days until we continued on to journeying.

Today, we finished shopping at the mercantile store. We had to make sure we didn't bring too much of something or very little of something. Everyone was arguing with each other. They were arguing rather they should take a shotgun or a rifle. Also people were arguing to see if we should take molasses. The worst part about our shopping, though is that we bought blankets for three people to fit in. I want to sleep in my own bed. Besides, some of these people smell and do you really want to know how it feels to sleep with somebody who smells really bad? Yep, we started our journey and I had to sleep with the smelliest guy ever! The first night, I didn't even get to sleep because he smelled so bad. It get's worse The second person I was sleeping with snores like crazy!
