Our 5th graders have each been paired up with a kindergartner in the morning class and the afternoon class and they will act like a permanent mentor to these children for the rest of the year. We will meet once per month, and our goal will be to help build the kindergartners self-esteems by helping them identify their positive traits and skills. Our first experience involved completing a graphic organizer that helped identify social skills "superpowers" that the kindergartners have. My students filled one out as well and used theirs to help guide the process. For this blog post, students need to do the following tasks:
