Questions
  1. Which activities increased your heart rate the most?
  2. Which activities increased your heart rate the least?
  3. Was the order in which you ranked the activities accurate? (It's good to be wrong!) Explain.
  4. What changes did you notice about your heart rate as you became more active?
  5. Why do you think your heart rate changed when you were more active? What inference can you make? (Use pages 65–66 of your reference book to help you answer this question.)

Answers
  1. Jogging and Running, because it had the most action and had to pump more blood.
  2. Standing and Laying down, because there was very little action and my heart did not need to pump as much blood.
  3. Yes because the least amount of of beats were at the bottom and the highest were at the top.
  4. That it kept beating quicker each time because my body needed more blood so it kept pumping faster.
  5. I think it did because my muscles and body needed more blood so my heart had to pump it harder. So then my muscles can keep moving.

I really liked this project because we got to work together really well and got a lot done. I think we did a good job taking the notes and

Questions-
  1. How has your first round of KinderPals gone?
  2. What were some differences between the two experiences (AM and PM)?
  3. How did you improve your skills as a KinderPal from the first experience to the second?
  4. In what specific ways did you help improve your students' self-esteem?
  5. Why should other schools do a program similar to KinderPals? Is it worth the time spent?

Answers-
  1. It went really well, I got to know each of my partners strengths and how they are better at me at stuff and they are starting to learn about us. Which is good because then they will look forward to seeing us next time instead of not caring about it as much.
  2. I think in the PM class they were a bit more talkative and were warmed up right away, but in the second class it took a while to get them going on things. This helped because then they were able to do the same things as the other kids so it didn't seem like I only did this thing for a certain kid.
  3. I improved more because I kind of knew what was going on and acted as if I hadn't done it before so then they wouldn't think that I say the same things every time. This helped by making them feel good and being able to get used to us and that they will feel good for the rest of the day because of us.
  4. I did contests such as drawing and had a judge and then my buddy would win every time. We would talk about there strengths and how they are way better then us at them then us so that made them feel good. This helped because then they wouldn't feel down about them selves.
  5. Because then it will make the kids feel good about them selves and they are the future and if they always look down then where will we get in this world. They are the future!

Creating an Elbow Joint

1/8/2016

  1. How many bones did your model need?  How many muscles did it need?
  2. How were your pretend muscles similar and different to real muscles?
  3. What would happen if the ligaments of the models were overstretched or torn? How would it affect the way the models could operate?
  4. Explain what ligaments, tendons, and cartilage are.
  5. What made this activity fun?
  6. What made this activity challenging?
  1. It needed two and it had two muscles.
  2. They both pulled and didn't push. So it was very realistic and a like to real bones.
  3. Then the arm would be very like squirmy and could do somethings that others can't. It would be double jointed.
  4. Ligaments connect bones to bones, tendons connect muscle to bone or other muscle, and cartilage is in between your joints and helps your bones form not rubbing hard together, that would hurt a lot.
  5. That we got to work in partners and create a fun model of a moving elbow joint out of regular stuff around the class room.
  6. It was challenging making the elbow joint and having it being able to move instead of just sitting there.
