Today we discussed what we would do with our blisters. About 3/4 of us decided that we would soak our feet to try to heal our blisters while that other 1/4 decided that they would pop their blisters which is really disgusting but none of us were right. Robert Gagne told us that if we did nothing about our blisters that they would heal by themselves. So 1/4 of us had a chance of getting a foot infection while the other 3/4 of us would get nothing except some scars.
We all are also getting really homesick and missing our families and pets that we might of had. We all are SO tired from staying up for so long because we had to walk for a long time. We are actually sleeping on our dirty clothes because it is cozy for us.
Today we also crossed the Kansas River but we decided that we wouldn't carry the wagons by ourselves so as we got to the river we met a man who called himself the Ferry Man. He told us that he would take care of getting our 4 precious wagons over the river for a COST. He told us that he would give us a discount so we only had to pay about $100. So while he managed to get the wagons across one of them tipped so we lost just a few belongings that we took. Anyway, while the animals were crossing the river, one of the oxen got spooked by so many of us crossing the river that it started to jump up and down and in the process of jumping up and down the oxen hurt one of our fellow pioneer, Tyler Smith. So now Smith is going to be traveling in the wagon for a week which will make the oxen more tired easily because they have to pull another 180 pounds!
Today we also reached Alcove Spring. Here it is so beautiful that we decided that we would stay here for about 3 days so we can rest here and gather supplies and do all the things that we need to before we continue our journey!
