Schoolwide Reading - Lesson 2

1. Where and when do you usually read? 
2. What kinds of books do you like to read? Why?
3. Do you have a favorite author, series, or genre? What is it?
4. How do you decide what to read once you are ready to select a new text?
5. Select a question from the class Padlet, and write some notes to record the answer. Other than books, what else do you like to read?
   

1. I usually read in my room, basement, or my moms room.
2. I like to read Sci-Fi series books because I love to have a dun dun dun at the end of a book and I love how there is always a war to resolve things.
3. My favorite author is Susan Collins because I love the Hunger Games series.
4. I read the back and get suggestions from my peers.
   
5. I like to read magazines and the internet.
   

                              Stop and Jots

• Henry seems really brave because he is moving into a house that has been vacant for years. I wouldn't move there because I don't like spiders or webs.
• Henry seems to really like the house because he is not doing renovations! People were whispering about the house and how it was a disgrace! I would be happy with all I got!
• The other people on the street are mad because they think that its embarrassing! It is also is a again and again because they keep saying the house is a disgrace! I think it keeps coming up because the house probably looks run down!
• Henry is a very nice person because when the people came to his to telling him to fix up his house he didn't say anything mean he just said, "Excuse me". That Henry!
• The neighbors are being very rude because they are writing him letters telling him to fix up his house. They also threatened jail! I'm so glad Henry isn't having peer pressure!
• Henry is now acting rude because two ladies offered him a pie but he said No thank you! I'm not hungry! The neighbors are trying to be nice because the mayor said to be nice! But they are really trying! It was also words of the wiser because the mayor told them to be nice when they weren't!
• Henry is to be different because he said, " I will not live like the rest of them. I'm sorry I came!" I feel that he should at least be nice to his neighbors. 
• Henry left to Decoda and he never came back! I would not leave I would just take the neighbors advice! Poor Henry
  
• Its a aha moment because the people are realizing that they were being mean and that they miss Henry and they feel really guilty!
