First, we decided what wagon we would use to carry all of our things. We chose a prairie schooner. We decided oxen because they could live on very little food and they are very strong animals. (Credit: http://hour25.heroesx.chs.harvard.edu/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Oxen-8.jpg |
We had to think of what time of year we would leave, because we needed to make sure we would arrive in mountains before winter time so we have a higher chance of survival. We chose April because it will be rainy but we since the journey will take six months max, we are hoping to make it. We made a list and tried to eliminate the less useful ones. (Credit: http://www.oregontrailcenter.org/HistoricalTrails/images/Supplies.gif |
