- Fort Loudoun was in the middle of the Cherokee nation.
- They were very important allies. They started moving north more and more.
- They were worried that the French would attack them though.
- George Washington was very young then and he attacked some french officers and killed them.
- But then the French surrounded him and forced him to surrender.
- In Europe Britain and France also were fighting.
- The British wore red coats.
- They would trade with the Cherokee and allied.
- The redcoats started to cover lots and lots of land to build houses on them.
- They also recruited Cherokee soldiers. Luckily they agreed and the troops went out. But when they started out the English were apparently to slow for them so some of them went home. This angered the English so they arrested one of their chiefs so killing each other. This was not good.
- Then when the Cherokee tried to talk it out, the English captured them and tried to get them to tell very important information. Later, the English attacks the Cherokee and burns their supplies so the the Cherokee are to exhausted to keep fighting so they end the war and mend the relation quite well and became friends.
- Forts are very important because they make protection and they are good for private discussion.
- The forts back in that time were of course, man made so they took time. The uniforms weighed 15 pounds of wool.
- You also wore it every season even when its hot. They also had shoes that did not have a left or right.
- The muskets were huge. Like 4 or 3 feet.
- There was a sword at the end of a musket in case if you had to do hand to hand combat.
- They had canteens and a bag worth of 60 pounds.
- The British won lots more battles than the Cherokee.
