The RED team represented Great Britain and they were the strongest and tallest children because the Great Britain army was alright trained and mighty. The BLUE team represented the Continental Army and there were fewer children because America didn't get many soldiers and they weren't well trained either. And the WHITE team represented France but they didn't come in early because they helped the Continental Army at the end of the war.
The BLUE team members got prizes at the end because they won and could keep their land. The one BLUE team member wouldn't receive a prize because he was a slave and they didn't get any credit at the end of the war. The WHITE team cheered for America because they were France and they hated Great Britain's army. Part of the RED team joined late because not all of the Great Britain army was there and they had to cross the ocean to come. The RED team had to pass the red and blue flag because in the war, America was just defending their land, and Great Britain was attacking.
All of this relates to the Revolutionary War but just in a shorter time. The people on the sides had to count to a certain number to show that they had to travel or train at the same time the war was going. The teams were pulling the rope to show that they were in war. The BLUE team was defending and the RED team was attacking. That's how the game is a metaphor for the war.

| 1. The BLUE team. 2. I felt that the BLUE team was going to win because we had more people and the RED team had to do more to win. 3. I thought RED would win because Mr. Solarz didn't explain it all and the RED team had taller and stronger people. 4. I got more confident because the new rules went to the BLUE team. Like when the RED team had to pull further. 5. Some reasons the BLUE team won was because the rules went more to us. For example, we had more people and the RED team had to pull further. |
