My notes on the video:
- Even specks of it can crash a ship.
- The journey to get there is 250 miles.
- It would last 2 and a half years.
- Including 18 months on the martian surface.
- Only third the size of earth it's volcanoes are the size of the state Missouri.
- It's tallest mountain soars three times higher than Mt. Everest.
- Some river valley's are as wide as the grand canyon is long.
- Gravity on mars is half of what it is on earth.
- Days are only a few minutes longer but a year is twice as long.
- And it is s cold that all it's water is locked up in polar ice caps. Or frozen beneath the surface.
- People are coming up with ways to survive in space with new technology.
- With new technology it would reduce the cost of the mission by 90%.
- And cut the travel time in half.
- Scientists have found minerals in water probably formed by bacteria.
- People were debating if there is life on mars.
- And this question stumped scientists for years.
- They would send robots to see where there was places where they might want to go.
- They would also need the robots to bring back minerals and proof to study on.
- If it's overwhelming (for the evidence) ten they'll go and send people.
- It went back and forth to mars 6 times between 1964-1976.
- Viking 1 and 2 made it there and they send pictures and took samples of the soil.
- They ran 4 tests on it and 3 were positive.
- And the most important test was a negative.
- There were ancient channel rivers showing that mars used to be warm and had flowing water.
- They would get ready to burn there fuel from the rocket to travel to the red planet.
- They would need seeds to plant plants and food and water and food to eat.
- They are testing lights on plants to grow food and blue lights get rid of the access waste and the ones that shot up and produce grains are the light they need. And red lights.
