Since Kangaroos habitat is usually in Australia, Kangaroos wet there armpits. They do to keep their body temp down. The blood runs close to the surface there and the moisture keeps the temp of the blood down a bit. (Credit: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070522083332AAakiyQ)

Kangaroos are the largest living marsupials from the family Macropodidae. There are four species commonly referred to as the kangaroo: the red kangaroo, the eastern grey kangaroo, the western grey kangaroo, and the antilopine kangaroo. Kangaroos are usually found

    Our Mars Simulation

    4/6/2015

When I first learned that I was going to Mars I was sooo excited! So I packed my stuff and flew all the way from Switzerland to Florida where I thought that I would first meet NASA. I was excited because my friend from Italy, Teo Izzi, was on the plane with me! He told me that he got the letter too! I would be flying with him to Mars!

When we got to Florida, Robert Gagne greeted us. Next thing I knew, we were packing our suitcases in the space ship! I was the farmer, so my bed room was closest to the garden area. also near me was the kitchen, and the workout room. I would sleep next to Akemi Kataoka, the nurse, Wu Chen, the chef and Antonia Salcedo, the Dentist. We were about to take off for landing when the spaceship had a malfunction! We had to wait eight more months! When we finally got ready to take off, Mars was too far away from us! So we had to wait another three years! THREE YEARS! Can you believe it!! After three years and eight months, we were finally ready to take off! On the spaceship, we decided who would do what and what problems we would face when we first got there. We then worked in committees and came up with ideas to solve the problems. After we landed we learned about the constitution. We said that we could bring guns. We had guns in a big factory and it went off! Everything exploded! Good thing that we made a teleported! We teleported back to Earth, but in 1843!

    Watery Earth, Lesson 1

    4/2/2015

The sweat was dripping rapidly down my face. On to my neck. Into my shirt. I was aching with pain. My legs burned from running. I had softball earlier. I had to run extra bases because our team was short of 3 people. 3 times harder working! I didn’t even think that I had tennis after words. And tennis class with my dad! Oh golly! We were doing the X drill. Than we did the 4 ball run. I could only hear him screaming because the sweat was in my ears. I felt like my knees were going to buckle and give in.

“OK class, you can get water! Hanna! Do the run again! Really try this time!” My dad yelled.

“Are you serious!” I screamed “I worked...”

Than he cut me off saying. “Just kidding! Go get water”. I had just enough energy to get my water. I ran as fast as I could to the bench to get my water. Just than, Adam grabbed my water!

“Give it back!” I yelled. Adam opened the water bottle on me and poured half of the water in the bottle (It was a huge jug) on top of my head!

“Thanks!” I said. My dad walked out of the court and saw me soaking wet! I told him Adam did it and he got in trouble.

    Human Body Research Paper

    3/20/2015

    Picture
    1.  What writing skills did you improve while working on your Human Body Research Paper?  Explain.
    2.  What are some concepts that you learned about the human body during this unit that you think are
                     important (not just interesting)?
    3.  What was the most challenging part of writing your Human Body Research Paper?  Why?
    4.  What aspect of the Human Body Research Paper are you most proud of?  Why?
    1. One of the things that I improved on was using my transition words. I also tried working on how not making run on sentences. Kaela, Emily and Nick actually helped me with my clincher sentences and it got better. And I actually improved on instead of fact by fact I made it interesting instead but I still had facts.
    2. I actually learned that your circulatory brings oxygen to you cells and I thought it's main purpose was just to your heart just pumping blood. But now I know that it also brings oxygen to our cells. I also didn't know that medulla was another name for a brain stem and it's actually really important so that's some concepts that I learned. Also that Muscles pull and don't push. These are some of the main things I learned. I learned so much that I would have 5 pages worth! Almost My whole Paper I learned!
    3. The most challenging part of writing the human body research paper was doing the respiratory system because it had a lot of parts and I tried to make it interesting but it was hard to put it into words.
    4. I am most proud of my nervous system because I already know a lot but I actually learned more and since I really loved the nervous system that made it more interesting to learn and it was really fun.

What Will We Do First On Mars?

    3/17/2015

    What did the group deiced?

What should we do first when we land on mars?
    • I think that Mikey/Teo Izzi should contact NASA so they could know that we landed.
    • We should then have Lucas and Charlie should build the windmills so then we can have electricity.
    • I think that once we landed that then we should then send Chris should go with Hasanain/Aldaberto Silva should go to the poles and collect the water. And make the drill.
    • Then I would think that we should then make the domes so Madi and Tucker should work on that.
    • We can start planting the foods for the gardener Hanna/Alexandrine Haberle.
    • Emily, Nicky, Kaela, and Mr. Solarz should make sure everyone is healthy and feeling safe.
    • Bela: Make the animals safe.
    • Everyone else: Unload the spaceship and help build the dome.
    • Maybe at the end we might need to build the MOXIE. Maybe in a couple of weeks

    What did I do?
I am tending the plants and food.

    6. How could you use only the sense of taste to catch the ruler?
    7. Explain how your senses, nerves, brain, and muscles in your fingers helped you catch the ruler for one of the senses explored. Use the Directing Your Muscles—The Nervous System chapter in your student reference book to help you.
My partner used his sight by seeing the ruler. He said go, but than, I waited till he was looking. I used it because he tricked me by saying "Go!" I got tricked and I tried to grab the ruler.
I think that I did better with the Sound Only and so did my partner.  He got 2 inches and I got 5 inches.
    3. On the touch we put our hand out and when we dropped it the partner touched the other persons hand. He got 4 inches. I got about 22 centimeters
    4. Some where easy because you could actually see it fall. Others you couldn't use even use sight.
    5. Someone could spray perfume in the area. Then you would grab it.
    6. Someone could toss a goldfish in our mouth. Then you would catch the ruler.
    7. Your brain sends signals through your nerves and then to your muscles then you close. That's how you grab it after a couple milliseconds.
