Reflection/Synthesis Questions:
| Answers 1. The shadows changed throughout the day. It went from long to short and then to long again. It also went to the opposite side of the page. 2. The thing that caused these patterns was the sun. When the sun changed positions in the sky, the shadows would change along with it. The it rose, it was in the east, so the shadow was in the west, and vise versa. 3. The longest shadow occurred at 9:25 AM. I think this happened because it was the closest time we went outside to sunrise or sunset. 4. The shortest shadow was at 12:05PM. It was like this because the sun was at it's highest peak for the day. When the sun is high, it has an angle that makes the shadows short. 5. The hardest part about this lesson to me was the check in we did. We had to stick a bolt through the paper, and see where the shadows would go. It was hard to figure it out and you had to read the directions really carefully. 6. I feel that I know the pattern of the sun and where the shadows are going to be according to the pattern. I also feel like I know where the shadows are going to be a different times of day. |
