Thomas Peters one of the many people in the wagon train, claimed he had a good shot. Little did he know you don't shoot near your animals and the animals when crazy and stampeded and started wailing. The buffalo laid unmoving and was dead. Then some sad and slow music started playing and lights shone on the dead bison. Then it rose up and spun around and kept going up till it reached the clouds. Some of them even formed a circle around the dead buffalo. One of them tried to join the herd of buffalo. The shot shocked everyone we then had some buffalo for dinner. This was a good meal but some people felt so sad about the buffalo they didn't even eat!!!
We made it to Fort Kearny and we had to fix the broken axle on one of the wagons because we were currently going on two skies. The oxen were ready to drop dead when we got to Fort Kearny even when we took out some of the supplies in that wagon. When we got there the oxen that were pulling the bad wagon crawled over to the two water hole and drank the whole thing. Then the ran over to the chicken coop and stuffed themselves with the chicken food. The other oxen were so hungry they stole meat from the butcher's shop. We decided to stay there for a couple days rest anyway. We also chose to sell our oxen for some fully rested and strong oxen, because we are going to need them for later on in the journey. We are now down to 700 dollars because of the cost of the axle and the new oxen.
When the Hatfield's got sick of an unknown disease and were throwing up and couldn't walk and exhausted, Mr. McCoy tried to take charge of the wagon train like a wagon train leader. He wanted to leave the Hatfield's behind because they were sick and he didn't want others to get sick to. This was the right idea just the wrong way of going about it. Now people started to chose sides Hatfield's or McCoy's that was all that was going through their heads. One family even fought another family over who was right. The Hatfield's even bribed some people into messing up others wagon or things like that. Now Mr. McCoy was unsure of what do do the whole wagon train was in chaos. Our family decided to tell Mr. McCoy that we should do it the fair way, a vote!!!
