I think I improved in a lot of skills like putting info that is similar together but mostly I improved in capitals and periods. 2. One concept I learned was that the digestive system doesn't just digest food it also creates energy. I also learned what the concept dilate means. 3. The hardest part was the easy bib because I had to put down a ton of sites and it was a little bit frustrating. 4. I am most proud of the nervous system part because it was some really complicated stuff. |
The human body has six main systems and is a complex machine that is constantly working to keep us alive. Although each system has its own unique jobs to do, they synergize to keep us healthy and active.
The skeletal system is responsible for giving us support, structure, and protection and works together with the muscular system to move our body. Our muscles pull our bones, which allows us to move, jump, and run! The muscular system actually plays an important role in delivering oxygen to our body’s cells. Without the heart, one of our most important muscles, blood wouldn’t be able to travel around our body! Luckily for us, the blood travels through our lungs, where it drops off carbon dioxide and picks up oxygen that our cells are craving. Speaking of craving, did you ever know that the main purpose of our digestive system isn’t just to digest food? It’s job is actually to take nutrients and water out of what we eat and drink and then deliver it to the circulatory system where it gets delivered to the cells in our body. But none of these systems would work without the direction of our nervous system!
Now let’s get right into it with the skeletal system, where you’ll learn how our bones help us move and protect our organs.

Our body has lots of joints that do many different things.
Cartilage is a smooth white tissue that is between our bones. The cartilage allows our bones to glide over each other without friction. Cartilage also makes sure the bones do not grind.
Ligaments are tough bands of tissue. They ones. Ligaments also make sure the bones move correctly. Ligaments also keep bones in proper order. Gliding joints are also known as plane joints. They allow our bones to glide past each other. When we run, our bones glide over each other. A hinge joint includes the ankle, elbow, and knee joint. Hinge joints are formed between two or more bones. They are needed when your body is stretching or extending . Pivot joints are also known as a rotary joints or trochoid joints. They allow rotary movement. They are located between the atlas and the axis. Pivot joints allow our neck to move side to side and our arms to twist. Ball-and-socket joints are a special class of synovial joints that make the most motion in the body. The shoulder and hip joints are the only ball-and-socket joints in the body due to the need for great motion at the body’s limbs.
As you can see the skeletal system has many important jobs. Without our bones we could not move around and protect our most important organs. Also our bones make up most of our body. Imagine if you did not have bones. You would not be able to live. However our body could not move itself. It needs the help of our muscular system as well.
Muscular System:
Our muscular system is what helps helps us move. Muscles are elastic tissue that pull our body when we move. Don't only do muscles move our body they also help circulate blood throughout the body. Did you know muscles make up 40% of your body weight? Muscles are also the most dense thing in your body and they weigh more than fat. If you did not have muscles you probably would not live very long because without them blood would not flow because our heart is a muscle. Voluntary muscles are the muscles we can move. Most of them move your bones around. If you want to run, jump, eat, or drink, the voluntary muscles do that. Our skeletal muscles are connected to our skeleton to form part of the mechanical system.
Our skeletal muscle is formed by straightened muscle tissue which is controlled by the nervous system. When someone flexes, they are moving their biceps and triceps,also biceps and triceps never push but they pull for example when you flex your biceps are pulling up. Involuntary are muscles that don't need the brain to do things like when the hairs on your back go up because you are scarred. The Cardiac muscle is one of the top3 most important muscles because they work in the heart,specifically the myocardium.The heart is a muscular organ that pumps blood through the circulatory system. smooth muscle is a involuntary muscle Than is in two parts. There are many different types of blood cells,first we will talk about white blood cells white blood cells are the blood cells that protect our body from infection. White blood cells play an important role in the immune system by identifying and destroying the bad blood cells. Red blood cells are the most common type of blood cells deliver oxygen to body tissue. Platelets along with plasma and red blood cells are a major portion of human and animal blood,microscopically the look like little or spiky novels,platelets are actually fragments of the cells in bone marrow.PLasma is a pale yellow liquid it makes up about 55% of our bodys blood. Blood vessels are are tubes that transport blood through the entire body they also deliver valuable nutrients and cleans blood cells.artery are a vessel that carries blood away from the heart and to the other organs,they also deliver oxygen to every cell in the body. Veins are blood vessels th that carry blood to the heart,veins are less muscular than arteries. Capillaries are tiny blood vessels that carry blood,they are very small the largest being 10 micrometers in diameter.The heart is a hollow organism that pumps blood throughout the circulatory system,The heart has 4 different chambers the first one is the Left Atrium it receives good blood and the right atriums get the bad blood to make it good blood.These are all parts of the circulatory system but thats not all there is still the respiratory system to talk about.

One of the main things the respiratory system does is it brings in oxygen so you can breath here are some of the parts of the respiratory system. When air enters the body It goes to the lungs so we have oxygen to fuel our blood cells in our body. Our mouth and nose breath in oxygen,for example when you exercise you breath hard so that your body gets oxygen to your muscles. The oxygen moves through your lungs so your heart pumps.the epiglottis is a flap that is made of elastic cartilage,it is attached to the entrance of your larynx. It projects obliquely upwards behind the tongue and the hyoid bone.The larynx is better known as the voice box,it is in the neck and protecting the trachea against food aspiration. The word larynx came from the Greek word λάρυγξ.The vocal cords also known as the vocal folds It is stretched horizontally across the larynx.The voice box is what makes you talk,when air or oxygen pases it makes a sound.The voice box is also known as the voice reads.The trachea, also called windpipe, is a tube that connects the pharynx and larynx to the lungs it allows air to pass.When you breath through your nose you inhale air,then it go’s down your throat and into your windpipe. Here is some info on the lungs. Each of the organs are in the the rib cage, they are elastic sacs with branching passages into which air go’s down, so that oxygen can pass into the blood and carbon dioxide be removed. he Bronchial Tube is also known as bronchioles.
Airway in the respiratory tract that conducts air into the lungs. Bronchi is how you say more than one bronchus. the Alveolus is located the lungs, oxygen and carbon dioxide a waste product of body processes.
Digestive System:
The next system we will talk about is the digestive system It helps you digest your food, so the cells of our body can get the nutrients they need. It turns our food into energy, did you know if you have body fat when you are starving your body burns it to make energy.
The digestive system is made up of seven major parts the Salivary glands, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and rectum. They each are a big part of the digestive system but there are also some smaller parts. The mouth is the first portion of the alimentary canal that receives food and saliva. The tongue is a muscular organ and it is covered in moist pink tissue. There are thousands of taste buds on our tongue so we can taste things. The taste buds are nerves that connect to the brain. A bolus is what we turn our food into when we chew it so that it can be swallowed. It is one of the mechanical digestion processes. The food then goes down your esophagus. The esophagus is mainly called the food pipe because when we eat our food it goes down there. The food pipe tilts backward to make sure food does not go down the larynx. When we swallow our bolus it goes down the esophagus. Peristalsis is a wave like movement that moves food down the esophagus and into the stomach. The process begins in the esophagus when the bolus goes down. The stomach is a muscular organ in the left side of the upper abdomen. The stomach contains strong acids that help digest your food. Digestive juices are what helps digest food or break it down. They include saliva in the mixture. Chyme is a pulpy acid fluid that passes from the stomach into the small intestine with partially digested food. Food goes from the stomach into the small intestine and eventually the large intestine. The villi are tiny, finger-like projections that enable the small intestine to absorb nutrients from food. The Pancreas is a gland deep in the stomach. It is in the stomach and abdomen. The Gallbladder & Liver is in the upper part of the abdomen. The liver and gallbladder participate in some of the same things but they are very different. Bile is a bitter green liquid and it is stored in the gallbladder. You Absorb water into the bloodstream by the large intestine that onley takes as much as it needs. The anus is basically where the body's waste that your body does not need goes, also known as poop.
Conclusion: So as you learned the digestive system is very important, it
gets us energy but there is still one more system to talk about, it is the Nervous system!
Nervous System:
The nervous system is a bunch of blood cells that make our body flinch and stuff like that when we are hurt.For example if you are burned your body quickly pulls away that is your nervous system doing that.The nervous system sends messages to the brain to know what to do.Here are some of the parts of the nervous system.The brain is soft pink tissue stored in your skull.It is your bods control center it is what controls how we think and our feelings.The brain is kind of like what you tell yourself what to do,when you are a kid your brain makes new paths witch is what happens when you learn something it makes your brain bigger.Your brain has three parts to it and they all do there own important job. Cerebrum is in the front of your brain there are two parts of it called cerebral hemispheres and it cordinates your body.It controls all the volintary actions of the body and it stores informashon and uses it to proces things. Medulla or Brainstem is located between the pons and the spinal cord, It allows your heart to pump and you to breath without having to tell yourself to. Nerves are a whitish fiber or groups of fiber that transmits impulses to the brain. It is the thing that makes the muscles move or when you are getting burned you feel it. Sensory Nerves transmit sensory info, The pick up the info and send it to the brain so you know what you touched or how it felt. Motor Nerves carry impulses from the brain to your muscles. They tell your muscles to move. Spinal Cord is connected to most of the muscles and nerves and it is connected to the brain so the it forms a central nervous system. the spinal cord
is a main pathway for information because it is connected to almost everything. Neurons are special cells that that transfer nerve impulses, it is a nerve cell that is very important for information. Synapses allows neurons to transfer energy, It is how we get some of our bodys energy. Axons are long thread like parts of nerve cells they are responsible for transferring information.
As you can see, the human body is a complicated, unique machine that does so many important things. Not only does it help you live, but it also helps you move, think, breathe, feel, and communicate! Can you possibly imagine what life would be like if we were missing even one of these important systems? If not, maybe a few of these valuable concepts will help you understand better. The word larynx came from the Greek word λάρυγξ.The vocal cords also known as the vocal folds It is stretched horizontally across the larynx.The voice box is what makes you talk,when air or oxygen pases it makes a sound.The voice box is also known as the voice reads.The trachea, also called windpipe, is a tube that connects the pharynx and larynx to the lungs it allows air to pass.When you breath through your nose you inhale air,then it go’s down your throat and into your windpipe. Here is some info on the lungs. Each of the organs are in the the rib cage, they are elastic sacs with branching passages into which air go’s down, so that oxygen can pass into the blood and carbon dioxide be removed. he Bronchial Tube is also known as bronchioles.
Airway in the respiratory tract that conducts air into the lungs. Bronchi is how you say more than one bronchus. the Alveolus is located the lungs, oxygen and carbon dioxide a waste product of body processes.
Digestive System:
The next system we will talk about is the digestive system It helps you digest your food, so the cells of our body can get the nutrients they need. It turns our food into energy, did you know if you have body fat when you are starving your body burns it to make energy.
The digestive system is made up of seven major parts the Salivary glands, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine and rectum. They each are a big part of the digestive system but there are also some smaller parts. The mouth is the first portion of the alimentary canal that receives food and saliva. The tongue is a muscular organ and it is covered in moist pink tissue. There are thousands of taste buds on our tongue so we can taste things. The taste buds are nerves that connect to the brain. A bolus is what we turn our food into when we chew it so that it can be swallowed. It is one of the mechanical digestion processes. The food then goes down your esophagus. The esophagus is mainly called the food pipe because when we eat our food it goes down there. The food pipe tilts backward to make sure food does not go down the larynx. When we swallow our bolus it goes down the esophagus. Peristalsis is a wave like movement that moves food down the esophagus and into the stomach. The process begins in the esophagus when the bolus goes down. The stomach is a muscular organ in the left side of the upper abdomen. The stomach contains strong acids that help digest your food. Digestive juices are what helps digest food or break it down. They include saliva in the mixture. Chyme is a pulpy acid fluid that passes from the stomach into the small intestine with partially digested food. Food goes from the stomach into the small intestine and eventually the large intestine. The villi are tiny, finger-like projections that enable the small intestine to absorb nutrients from food. The Pancreas is a gland deep in the stomach. It is in the stomach and abdomen. The Gallbladder & Liver is in the upper part of the abdomen. The liver and gallbladder participate in some of the same things but they are very different. Bile is a bitter green liquid and it is stored in the gallbladder. You Absorb water into the bloodstream by the large intestine that onley takes as much as it needs. The anus is basically where the body's waste that your body does not need goes, also known as poop.
Conclusion: So as you learned the digestive system is very important, it
gets us energy but there is still one more system to talk about, it is the Nervous system!
Nervous System:
The nervous system is a bunch of blood cells that make our body flinch and stuff like that when we are hurt.For example if you are burned your body quickly pulls away that is your nervous system doing that.The nervous system sends messages to the brain to know what to do.Here are some of the parts of the nervous system.The brain is soft pink tissue stored in your skull.It is your bods control center it is what controls how we think and our feelings.The brain is kind of like what you tell yourself what to do,when you are a kid your brain makes new paths witch is what happens when you learn something it makes your brain bigger.Your brain has three parts to it and they all do there own important job. Cerebrum is in the front of your brain there are two parts of it called cerebral hemispheres and it cordinates your body.It controls all the volintary actions of the body and it stores informashon and uses it to proces things. Medulla or Brainstem is located between the pons and the spinal cord, It allows your heart to pump and you to breath without having to tell yourself to. Nerves are a whitish fiber or groups of fiber that transmits impulses to the brain. It is the thing that makes the muscles move or when you are getting burned you feel it. Sensory Nerves transmit sensory info, The pick up the info and send it to the brain so you know what you touched or how it felt. Motor Nerves carry impulses from the brain to your muscles. They tell your muscles to move. Spinal Cord is connected to most of the muscles and nerves and it is connected to the brain so the it forms a central nervous system. the spinal cord
is a main pathway for information because it is connected to almost everything. Neurons are special cells that that transfer nerve impulses, it is a nerve cell that is very important for information. Synapses allows neurons to transfer energy, It is how we get some of our bodys energy. Axons are long thread like parts of nerve cells they are responsible for transferring information.
As you can see, the human body is a complicated, unique machine that does so many important things. Not only does it help you live, but it also helps you move, think, breathe, feel, and communicate! Can you possibly imagine what life would be like if we were missing even one of these important systems? If not, maybe a few of these valuable concepts will help you understand better.
