The red team represented the soldiers from Great Britain. They were tall and strong because back in Revolutionary War times the soldiers from Great Britain were well trained and disciplined. The blue team represented the colonists. There was fewer blue team members than red team members because the colonists were still in training and weren't ready to fight. The white team was France and Spain, who were on their way to help the colonists. They came in late because they had to travel oversea to get to the colonies. The blue team members got offered a prize if they won because back in revolutionary war days if the colonists won the war they would get their own prize, freedom. One student on the blue team wasn't offered a prize because he represented a slave. Even after the war the slaves still weren't free. The white team cheered for the blue team because they were upset with the British and wanted to get back at them, so they helped the British's opponents. Part of the red team was late because not all of the British army came in all at once. They still had some backup back in Great Britain that had to travel the long way oversea, so they came in later. The colonists only had to hold off the British so that the help could come and eventually the British would back down, so the blue team only had to make sure that the red didn't pull past the bag. The British had to defeat the colonists, so they had to pull all the way back to the bag.
